patent leather shoes like goathooves clicking
the rabbit-fur cape slightly slipping
the
parasol a problem with the handbag whipping
(and another troublesome thing to clutch
the
engraved Bible zippered shut)
organdy dress with its soft percussion
perpendicular skirt on its firm foundation
petticoat and crinoline’s laceration
(and above the de rigueur carapace
not one
curl is out of place!)
home to the photos between starched brothers
bow ties, rosebuds, slick white loafers
home to
the eggs and their tasteless colors
(in your rococo halo of tortured hair
in your
crucifixion underwear)
